Can you tell me what oil you use when you do an oil change? Where do you get it from and how much does it cost?
Thanks Mark

I think my question could of been put a bit better. I know which oils to put in. Eg Duckhams 20/50 classic, Millers trans m, Halfords classic and so on. I was wondering if there was any local motor factor/car accessory shop that I don't know, that did these oils at a good price (My daughter will tell you how tight I am) ;D I have been told the Millers is the best to get but at £20+ at Moss in Bradford I find this a bit pricey

Go to express factors in Halifax... well cheap, get all my stuff there. It's between B&Q and the petrol station.
First year we used 20W50 as that was said to be the best for A series engines, however, we were told to use Fully Synthetic this year and it's run fine so far... lol

On all the forums I go on they say fully synthetic is a big no because it kills gearboxes.

I put Unipart Green 20/50 in my Equinox and change it every 3000 miles. I use Express Factors too. It costs about £8.50 and £1.50 for the filter. '97 on Minis use a Rover 200 filter which is about £2.50
I used Unipart Red 10/40 when it was newer but I think the Green is better.
Don't forget to change the air filter. These are cheap too. At about £5 I have a K&N metal element in the standard air box which was about £20, this gets oiled occasionally but should last the life of the engine.
I put semi synthetic Unipart Silver in the Maestro Turbo Diesel for 6000 mile changes and Unipart Green in the VW for 3000 mile changes.
Don't forget to swap the copper sealing washer on the sump plug, or at least turn it round.
