Right then, the start of my project thread. Anyone who read my other previous thread might remember its a '66 deluxe in clipper blue thats been sat in a garage for 21 years until i bought it (taking out the middle man i.e. the guy who got it and sold it on to me for what i can only guess is a mild profit!) I previously stated that the only major work to do was to replace the rear wheel arches and pump up the suspension... take a look at these recent pictures, you'll notice he's FAR FROM IT! Up on axle stands The 'carefully' stripped interior The as yet untested 848 Any excuse to get my hands on spray paint! The outer left A-panel The inner left A-panel...isnt there really lol That about covers the newly found problems, but the rear wheel arches still need patching, and the boot floor still needs at least rewelding back to the car haha Im quite sure this will bring up many questions since i havnt covered much apart from some pictures! I'll continue adding photos and better descriptions of whats going on. In the mean time, iv got some boot floor rust to be scabbing!

Thanks for the compliments When i bought it, i had absolutely NO CLUE about mini's. I loved them anyway, and just bought this because i could afford it and it was a Mk1. Little did i know that half the hidden bits needed replacing haha. Anywho, plans for little mike: Keep him original as possible Keep to a really really strict budget (im funding the project with leftover student loan!) Make him work So far, the amount of things iv kept (especially interior-wise) ignoring peoples advice on chucking things away, i must have saved about £200 All to disappear when i find out something under the bonnet doesn't work haha. Shall keep u all updated!

Throw things away? Wouldnt dream of it I almost threw away some dashboard liner and the engine bay firewall leather sound insulation... until i found out they collectively cost up to £30! They're clean now and ready to be re-fitted haha The little black box is... i should know this, i thought it was a fuse box but got told it wasnt it (the fuse box is above it in the very corner of the engine bay - yes, that jumble of corroded wires, thats it!) After consulting my Haynes manual, iv found out it is the 'control box'... I'll read on lol "...comprises the voltage regulater and the cut-out...controlling the outbut from the dynamo depending on the state of the battery and the demands of the electrical equipment...and connects the dynamo to the battery when the dynamo is turning fast enought to produce a charge..." Well there u go The control box in 60 seconds haha
