keeps stalling when the chokes fully in, even after the engines upto temperature, so have been driving it with the choke out for a while, but its not doing it anygood really.
the engine doesnt sound like its running correctly either like its not running smooth you can feel it pulling, then not then pulling.. if you get me?
The cars just been tuned by me and my dad not long back too :/
Also, the breather pipe is missing, its a 1989 mini city 998cc carb model, does it need one?
And finally, all the engine steadies are snapped, could this be the problem?.. or be contributing to it?
Help much appreciated!

Engine steadies need changing asap! like now! The engine will be putting it's effort into trying to spin in the engine bay.. rather than move the car. You'll break the engine mounts too if you keep using it.... i've done it myself. Could be that it's just "un-tuned" itself... the jet in the carb could be worn? meaning it all needs re-setting up? That would explain the stalling, idle etc Also... my Tahiti was running badly when the head gasket went... but it was still running if you booted it! ::)So try and check that... mine had gone between two of the cylinders

points may have closed up, check the gap, give them a clean and clean the distributor cap too... the condensor could have also gone, if the points appear burnt or bluey, change the points and condensor, as they need to go in in pairs, new of one will wear the other out even if they are fairly new... if you get me... lol

This sounds like air leak on the carb/manifold. Points and condensor , could be but would the car start in the first place?

If you have a Haynes use this to go through everything. Also check to see if there is any open pipes on the carb that could be letting air in. ketchup had a loose wire on the coil a couple of days ago. This made it run crap but it still started no problem. It will be something so simple, it normally is

yes ryan! it will be your condensor... if you changed the points and not the condensor then they will have burnt it out.... you need to get both together.... they both live in the distributor, the condensor is the silver box that is held in by a single screw... no idea what it does, but it solves problems if you replace it!! lol, do this first, they only cost like £3.50 for the pair and it saves a lot of troubble rather than pulling things apart and trying to find other problems.... number 21 on here.....

as i said in the mini fair thread, turned out to be blocked up float chambre, but wewas looking through the sheds and found a 1980's condensor still in its rather battered packet + a condensor so if they do burn out, ill be ready ;D
