This is HenWY.......... The paperwork is all done. Had to have a new MOT which he's passed without anything to do! He's a 1971 Austin Mini 1000, with a 1275 fuel injected engine fitted!

This is a J reg Mini in keeping. I have looked at the 10" wheel idea but at around £500 to do, looking was enough for me...... No advice from Scott. It's all my own work.

I had a bit of a disaster last weekend trying to finish what I started over Xmas. Here is the floor and subframes painted..... I had painted all underside of HenWY with underseal and had then done the wheel arches on nearside the week before last weekend. I decided to finish the job on Friday last week only whist rubbing down the rust it developed into a hole. the more I rubbed, the bigger the hole got! I have a mate from work (Dave) who does welding and has done some jobs like this before so I rang him and arranged to get the job done on Saturday. It needed the A panel doing on that side anyway so I went to Moss at Shipley and got one. Very reasonable at £6.80 I thought. So Saturday came and we cut away the A panel and removed the door. The whole of the A post was rotten! It needed a piece fitting from the floor/sill to the top by the air vent hole. Then the Apanel was replaced too and door fitted back on. When I returned home the underside of wheel arche was then undersealed, (what I wanted to do the day before) and then the A panel needed to be painted. This was sprayed using Areosol cans. What a joke! I doesn't match at all and has spoilt an otherwise decent job. I have now bought a compresser and intend to repaint the whole car at some point. In the mean time my Mini looks horrible..... :x

I'm still undecided on the colour. I wanted to do it the same colour as my MG (ignition blue) but it could be a lot of extra work doing inside, boot and under bonnet etc, so will probably just paint it tahiti blue again but this time it will all match! I'm going to wait until weather is warmer to do it, so I'm not in a rush to choose. I now have all equipment needed and a garage so could do it whenever I wanted really. I know you all like the retro styling but as long as it looks tastfully done it doesn't really matter to me....

The spring is coming and so am gonna paint my Mini soon now. I have chosen how I'm gonna try to do it, based on these images. What do you think??? Maybe a bit ambitious?
