Well.... The Bean, who has been my trusty sidekick for about 3 years got Punched by a Skoda and was Written off... Sad times... so, i got £1000 and got to keep him... I decided to have a break from minis for a while, but The Bean will be back, and the Mk2 Rally Project is still slowly plodding along... but i needed a Daily drive... so i bought this MGB GT: He came with two new wings, and two spare rust free doors, as his were slightly crispy... the interior is super nice and very clean with no rips, he is 100% original with about 80,000 on the clock... he was named Melvin, and looking at the extensive service history, we saw that a Mr Gribble looked after him and prettymuch serviced him until about 1980! so we decided to name him Melvin Gribble, or MG for short! lol! ive been pulling him apart and making him ready to take me to uni!! i rebuilt the carbs, Dirty! Ewww! clogged up! shiny! Before and After!

so next i had to sorth the blue smoke... which meant valve stem oil seals and piston rings.... so head off, valves out the worst one, yuck!! Second hand Rad off Fleebay arrived! back down to the garage rob and jack arrived to lend a hand! the sump came off and the pistons came out then we all went home to bed, then jack and myself came back again! the pistons were nice and coked up... so jack set about prising the rings out of them because they were well stuck! he cleaned them up too! a friend of mine owns a garage round the corner, really handy! i went round and borrowed some ring compressors and a hohning tool so i hohned out my bores then ground in my valves while jack re-rung the pistons then the pistons went back in: and the head gasket i did get the head back on and the conrods all torqued up and the manifold etc back on the head....

all finished! however, he wouldn't start... hmm.... i suspect the coil.... we'll see... im taking the bean down, as rob has kindly let me store him in his unit until he is ready to be resurrected! so ill steal his coil... im also planning on stealing his ram pipes and his headlamps... i feel bad, but eventually ill have money again and ill get the MG his own bits!! anyhoo! couple of Pics! so he's all done... but won't start... the bateries are on charge as my dad thinks it was a weak spark... i took ouit he interior and he is at a garage having his underside welded... lovely so im wanting him for friday so he can take me to uni!! lol we'll see! hope you all like!
