Right, today i made my rally dash!! yay! it looks smint! i also sprayed up my mk1 switch panel but was annoyed to find that the hole in the dash rail was slightly larger... hmmm so ill have to make a strip to go in then when its covered in leatherette you wont beable to tell my dad gave me an avanti map light that he had on one of his cars back in the day lol, so that will go on the passenger door, with a switch in the passenger dash panel, ill probably save up for a trip and some stopwatches to go on there too. got my doors on and my numberplate! yay!! gotta cover the dash rail before i fit the windscreen and cut my speaker holes before i fit the rear! almost all done!! YAY! Ed

You'll be lucky. They are a different size and shape. There must be an easier way. How about separating the MK1 hinges and fixing them unhinged but looking like they are, to your standard doors? Then you could get some insulation tape and lay a vertical strip down the window so it looks like a slider from a distance.

today i bought myself some seats! YAY! they cost me £102 off ebay, which i didnt think was too bad!? ill have to save up for my speedwells now!! i also recently have bought a steering wheel, a new seald beam insert for my blown reversing lamp, lol, and a pressed numberplate for the back! but the stupid post strike has meant i only have the insert.... poo, oh well! pics: i did a bit of work too, i cut the holes for my speakers and took off my spaced drums to fit my non spaced ones, but the thread on the studs doesnt go the whole length, and i was just going to cut them down.... so has anyone got a die to cut thread!!? not much left now!! WOOP! Ed

Today:
went to minisport and bought some goodies, and necesseties... (is that how you spell that!??) i got a gearbox gasket set ready for the swap, some warning lights for my dash, 8 wheel studs for my non spaced drums and two bottom engine mountings with captive nuts, i dont know why they weren't deigned like this in the first place... lol
i went down expecting to have the gearboxes swapped but instead i found myself in that situation where you say, ill just do this, it'll take me 5 min, well i spent about an hour trying to get the rear window in, then another hour trying to get that stupid silver strip into the groove :xxx:
so i did some wiring.... and ran out of spade connectors... so then i set about the gearbox, which i got as far as taking off the bolts that hold it to the block, then i had to go for tea, and it was getting dark.... so tomorrow ill prob get it seporated then put it onto the engine ill be using!
so all in good fun....? lol oh and minisport decided to sell me the wrong wheel studs, so i now have 16 for spaced drums.... tisk
